Following an extensive modernisation programme, Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has officially opened its renovated mini and compact excavator factory.

“We have already doubled our annual output from 2,500 to 5,000 machines since 2014,” says the factory’s General Manager Marco Verhoef. “The renovation will enable us to increase this figure to over 7,000 per year.”
A special unveiling ceremony took place on 21 June and was attended by HCME employees and key Hitachi customers. The occasion was marked with confetti being released by HCME President and CEO Makoto Yamazawa and Director Production and Procurement Kazutoshi Yoshioka.

Marco attributes that achievement to the commitment shown by the factory’s 100 employees: “Thanks to all of our dedicated personnel, we now have a fully redesigned and modernised factory, and are very proud of what we have achieved.”
